I didn’t think this would work for me, as I never had Angry Birds installed to begin with on this device (Droid 2 Global). Since I have it on another device (Archos 70 tablet), I assumed this was the reason I could not download and install it to the phone (using the same Google Market account), but decided to give your method a shot. I skipped the “backup” part since I don’t have scores to save, and went from there and it worked! You are awesome! Thank you!

But BE CAREFULL when uninstalling the original games because they might look like or be located next to the BACKUP versions. If you uninstall the BACKUP by accident & the original, then there goes all your precious golden eggs & high scores!

Try going into settings,sd memory, and select unmount sd card. Then download/update angry birds. After it is downloaded, go back and mount sd card. Reply back if that works.

i had done a factory reset earlier – then when downloading i got the error – i followed the steps above except i didn’t download the backup ap bc i didn’t have an angry birds ap to back up after the factory reset – all your steps worked to get the game working, however it shows high scores when i begin the first levels, but all the levels are locked
how does it know my old high scores, but doesn’t know i beat a level? any idea on a fix?

What kind of Android device do you have. If it is a phone that has a SIM card this might help.
1. Take you SIM card out of you phone.
2. Power it on and connect your phone to the internet vai WIFI.
3. No you connect to Market and download Angry Birds!
